When your body is overheated, from moving around, exercise, feeling emotional, or as a result of hormones, then nerves activate sweat glands. The major sweat glands found in the body called Eccrine Sweat Glands are predominately found on the feet, palms, face, and armpits. When these nerves overreact, it causes a medical condition called hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that results in excessive sweating. This sweating can occur in unusual situations, without any trigger at all such as in cooler weather. There are two types of Hyperhidrosis, Primary and Secondary.

Primary Hyperhidrosis affects areas of the feet, palms and armpits and usually commences before adulthood. People with a family history of hyperhidrosis are at higher risk of developing the condition. People who have Primary Hyperhidrosis find sweating is during sleep/night is uncommon.

Secondary Hyperhidrosis affects he entire body and can commence at any age. It can be caused by medical conditions, such as menopause or hyperthyroidism. People who suffer Secondary Hyperhidrosis will sweat at during sleep/night.

Hyperhidrosis can be uncomfortable and embarrassing to those suffers. However, several treatment options can provide some relief.
